A Mor­vant man is in sta­ble con­di­tion af­ter he tried to rob a pa­tron at a restau­rant in Curepe on Tues­day night.

Po­lice said the 70-year-old pa­tron, who is a li­censed firearm own­er, was wait­ing to col­lect food at a restau­rant on the South­ern Main Road, around 8.15 pm, when he was con­front­ed by a man and a woman who or­dered him to hand over his cash.

The male ban­dit pushed his hand in­to the pa­tron’s pock­et and pulled out his wal­let.
