(Kaieteur News) – Residents of Corriverton, Corentyne, are reeling from shock after a 55-year-old fisherman reportedly died following an altercation with a 15-year-old on Wednesday night.

Police in Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne) have confirmed the death of Asmat Mohamed Hussain, of Lot 23 Dukestown, Corriverton, Corentyne, Berbice, and the arrest of the teen in connection with the incident.

According to information gathered, the incident occurred at about 21:00hrs near a supermarket in the area. The 15-year-old, who is of mixed ancestry, also resides in Corriverton.
