A 77-year-old man of Phillipine was left injured and traumatised after he was mauled by two dogs owned by a neighbour last week Friday.
Ramraj Dookhantie, of Hillpiece Road, told the Express he was walking on the street to get a taxi around 2.30 p.m. when the dogs attacked, and he fell onto the roadway as the dogs mauled him. Dookhantie was bitten on both arms and his left leg, before two residents—one with stones and another with a fire extinguisher—intervened and helped him to escape from the dogs. He was taken by ambulance to the San Fernando General Hospital, where doctors treated his injuries, which required more than 30 stitches.
A retired truck driver, Dookhantie said he also resides in Florida, US, and was due to return on Monday, but because of his injuries, he does not know when he will return.
