Police and car theives traded bullets last Friday afternoon in the St. Madeleine area following a high-speed pursuit of a stolen vehicle linked to a reported armed robbery in Mon Repos.
Around 2p.m. officers from the Southern Division Road Enforcement Task Force, including Ag/Sgt Seecharan, Ag/Cpl Matloo, and PCs Marcus, Ramsaroop, and Laloo of San Fernando Enquiries and Operations Staff, responded to reports of a robbery with violence in which a Hyundai Tucson was stolen by two armed men.
The stolen vehicle was spotted around 2:15 p.m. on the Golconda Connector Road near traffic lights. A pursuit started, ending when the Tucson lost control and stalled in an open lot along the M2 Ring Road, St. Madeleine.
