Police have arrested two men following a robbery with violence in San Fernando in the early hours of Sunday.
Around 3:30 a.m., a man was approached near his parked vehicle along Ramrattan Maharaj Trace, Debe, by two armed men. One suspect, holding a firearm to the victim’s neck, demanded cash and the keys to the victim’s Toyota Axio, which had been rented from a local auto rental company. The pair then fled the scene in the vehicle with $700 in cash.
Officers traced the vehicle using its GPS system in coordination with Trak Experts GPS Limited. Around 4:20 a.m., police located the stolen car parked under bushes near Haggard Trace, Penal. The suspects were observed in the vehicle; one was behind the wheel while the other attempted to remove the vehicle’s rear identification plate. Both were arrested on the spot.
