BARRACKPORE coconut vendor Michael Seeraj, 34, was gunned down on October 23 while dumping a load of shells with one of his workers.
The man told police he went with Seeraj to Project Road, Ramsabad Trace, Rochard Road, Barrackpore, around 7.35 pm to dump the coconut shells, a spot relatives said he would always use. The man told police he heard several gunshots and ran away.
Officers of the Barrackpore Police Station visited the scene, where they found Seeraj unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his shoulder. He was pronounced dead by a district medical officer. An autopsy was ordered.
