Following four deaths at home where exploding gas tanks were claimed as the cause, attorneys for the husband of one victim, Ria George, yesterday called for warning labels to be immediately placed on all gas tanks and that regulators attached to these tanks be certified.
Attorney Prakash Ramadhar added that, under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), T&T National Petroleum Marketing Company Ltd (NP) has been petitioned for a copy of the investigative report into George’s death. In the absence of a completed report, the company has been asked for information on when the investigation began, when it is expected to be completed, and the report and other documents sent to them.
NP, which acknowledged receipt of the letter, has 30 days to respond.
