A 43-year-old woman is in hospital after being shot in both legs during a brazen early-morning attack at her home in Arima, where gunmen masquerading as police opened fire on a property shared by two women.
According to police, the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, along River Valley Dump Road, when the victim was awakened by voices outside her home shouting “Police, police.”
Believing it to be a genuine call from law enforcement, she opened her front door—only to be met by a barrage of gunfire. She immediately felt a burning sensation in both legs and collapsed.
