Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar held bilateral talks with Saint Lucia’s Prime Minister Philip J Pierre yesterday, in a meeting which comes amid ongoing scrutiny over Trinidad and Tobago’s relationship with Caricom under her administration.
Pierre, who assumes the chairmanship of Caricom on July 1, met Persad-Bissessar during a courtesy call at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann’s.
According to a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister, discussions centred on strengthening cooperation between the two countries in areas including energy, trade, tourism, health, culture and ICT development.
