Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar met with Saint Lucia’s Prime Minister and current CARICOM Chairman, Philip J. Pierre, for talks aimed at strengthening ties between the two Caribbean nations and advancing shared regional priorities.
Prime Minister Pierre was accompanied by Saint Lucia’s Attorney General, the Honourable Leslie Mondesir. Prime Minister Persad-Bissessar was joined by Trinidad and Tobago’s Attorney General, John Jeremie, SC, along with Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs Sean Sobers and officials from the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs.
The meeting gave both leaders the chance to discuss matters of mutual interest and explore how Trinidad and Tobago and Saint Lucia can continue collaborating to advance regional priorities. Discussions centred particularly on health and crime-fighting cooperation, reflecting both nations’ focus on improving the safety, security, and well-being of their citizens.
