Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar held bi­lat­er­al talks with Saint Lu­cia’s Prime Min­is­ter Philip J. Pierre on Thurs­day, in a meet­ing which comes amid on­go­ing scruti­ny over Trinidad and To­ba­go’s re­la­tion­ship with Cari­com un­der her ad­min­is­tra­tion.

Pierre, who as­sumes the chair­man­ship of CARI­COM on Ju­ly 1, met Per­sad-Bisses­sar dur­ing a cour­tesy call at the Diplo­mat­ic Cen­tre.

Ac­cord­ing to a state­ment from the Of­fice of the Prime Min­is­ter, dis­cus­sions cen­tred on strength­en­ing co­op­er­a­tion be­tween the two coun­tries in ar­eas in­clud­ing en­er­gy, trade, tourism, health, cul­ture and ICT de­vel­op­ment.
