A 23-year-old man was killed in a hail of gunfire in Gonzales, Port of Spain, late Monday night.

Police said around 11 p.m. they received reports of loud explosions in the vicinity of Lastique Street. When officers arrived at Upper Oxford Street, they found Jahiem Thomas, of Hermitage Road and Agostini Street, Gonzales, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and struggling to breathe.

Officers rendered aid and took Thomas to the Port of Spain General Hospital, where he was examined and pronounced dead at 11:30 p.m.
