Prison au­thor­i­ties are prob­ing the sud­den death of a pris­on­er who is said to have fall­en ill at the Max­i­mum Se­cu­ri­ty Prison in Gold­en Grove on Christ­mas Day and was rushed to the hos­pi­tal, where he lat­er died.

The pris­on­er was iden­ti­fied as Al­fred Ce­de­no, 40.

Po­lice said Ce­de­no com­plained of ex­pe­ri­enc­ing chest pains around 6.30 pm on De­cem­ber 25 and was tak­en to the prison in­fir­mary, where he was treat­ed.
