A Barrackpore couple and their two teenage children were held under siege by bandits during a home invasion on Tuesday night.

A police report stated that the 55-year-old father secured his home on Julien Road, off Rochard Road, by locking all the doors and windows and retired to bed around 9.30 p.m.

The victim told police that he was awaken just over an hour later when he heard his daughter screaming.
