A Barrackpore family was left traumatised after two armed men broke into their home in the early hours of Friday, tied up the homeowner and beat him during a violent robbery.
The incident occurred around 3.45 a.m. at a house along Jaipaulsingh Road, police said.
According to reports, the 31-year-old electrician had secured his home and gone to bed with his family around 9 p.m. on Thursday. He was asleep in an upstairs bedroom with his wife when he was awakened by an intruder.
