TSTT workers march: Pay 10% hike

The Communication Workers’ Union (CWU) is not optimistic that the Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT) will return to wage negotiations in good faith and fears workers could be “weaponised” as the dispute over outstanding wages intensifies.

CWU secretary general Joanne Ogeer yesterday renewed her call for Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar to intervene in the stalled negotiation.

She made the comments following a lunchtime protest by TSTT workers during which the union also demanded that TSTT chairman Kern Dass explain why a 10% wage proposal was rejected.
