Minister of Health Dr Lackram Bodoe says an investigation has been launched into a social media claim that a baby was born with a broken arm after staff ill-treated the mother at the Mt Hope Women's Hospital.

He was speaking at the Ministry of Health's education drive at Gulf City Mall on May 16.

"I saw a report of an infant who suffered a broken arm. I don't believe that it happened yesterday. I believe it happened in April so I do have a preliminary report and so, first of all, I want to express my sympathies to the parent of that child. Also, I've asked for a full investigation into the matter."
