Police are investigating a violent home invasion in Iere Village, Princes Town, that left a 36-year-old man critically injured early Monday morning.
The victim was resting in a hammock in front of his home around 12:15 a.m. when five masked and hooded suspects approached. One was armed with a firearm, while another carried a cutlass. The intruders forced their way into the residence, and in a struggle, the victim sustained a serious chop wound to his back.
Hearing his father’s cries for help, the man’s son, rushed outside and helped drag him back into the house, locking the door to prevent further attack. An explosion was heard shortly afterward, causing damage to the door, before the suspects fled.
