A Police Constable and another man have each been granted bail with surety after appearing before separate Justices of the Peace yesterday, each charged with firearm-related offences.
Officer Kushal Karamthesingh was charged with transferring his Glock 48 pistol, transferring ten rounds of 9mm ammunition, possession of three 12-gauge cartridges, failing to have his FUL while carrying legal firearms and ammunition in a public place, not being authorised to keep and improper use of the TTPS shotgun, and not being authorised to keep the five TTPS 12-gauge cartridges. He was granted bail with surety in the sum of $175,000.
Ramjit Ramlochan was charged with possession of a Glock 48 pistol belonging to PC Karamthesingh and possession of ten rounds of 9mm ammunition belonging to PC Karamthesingh. He was granted bail with surety in the sum of $120,000. As a condition of his bail, he is required to report to the St. Joseph Police Station once a week between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
