A po­lice con­sta­ble and a civil­ian have been charged with firearm re­lat­ed of­fences fol­low­ing their ar­rest in the Ca­roni dis­trict.

The men ap­peared be­fore sep­a­rate Jus­tices of the Peace on Thurs­day, and were each grant­ed bail with sure­ty.

PC Kushal Karamthesingh was charged with trans­fer­ring his Glock 48 pis­tol; trans­fer­ring ten rounds of 9-mil­lime­tre am­mu­ni­tion; pos­ses­sion of three 12-gauge car­tridges; fail­ing to have his Firearm User’s Li­cence when car­ry­ing le­gal firearms and am­mu­ni­tion in a pub­lic place; not be­ing au­tho­rised to keep a Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice shot­gun; im­prop­er use of a TTPS shot­gun; and not be­ing au­tho­rised to keep five TTPS 12-gauge car­tridges.
