Four police officers charged with misbehaviour in public office over the alleged concealment of a loaded firearm have been granted bail by a master of the court.

PCs Mervyn Eligon, Daa­wuud Mohammed, Alexsi Har­ripersad and Akiel Smith faced the charge when they appeared before Master Delicia Bethelmy at the San Fernando High Court on Wed­nesday.

The four were jointly charged by the Professional Standards Bureau (PSB) with misbehaviour in public office by conspiring to pervert the course of public justice by concealing finding a firearm and ammunition at a certain location.
