The Ministry of Health is warning the public, after 300 vials of fentanyl were reported missing following a delivery discrepancy to a public health facility.
The potent synthetic opioid, supplied as fentanyl injection 0.05mg/ml/2ml ampoules, was discovered unaccounted for on August 6.
In a statement issued yesterday, the Ministry of Health said it has launched an urgent investigation, and is conducting site inspections at dispatch and delivery points, verifying delivery and stock records, and requesting reports and video footage from the facilities involved.
