SPECIAL agent in charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Caribbean Division, Michael A Miranda says the agency is working with local partners to prevent fentanyl from gaining a foothold in Trinidad and Tobago.
Speaking on TV6's Morning Edition programme yesterday, Miranda explained that the DEA's 'Fentanyl Free America' programme was created because of the impact of the synthetic opioid in the United States.
'We've had a great number of deaths in the United States, and although it's trending downward, we are focused on making sure we get the message out to let people know how dangerous fentanyl is,' he said.
