AN inmate has been charged by the Anti-Extortion Unit as part of its ongoing investigations into a significant extortion ring which had been operating within several business communities across Trinidad and Tobago.
Police, in a media release yesterday, stated the multi-agency investigation named “Operation Extortion Eradicator”, headed by ACP Richard Smith, “has successfully dismantled the ring, by targeting individuals on the outside, as well as high-risk inmates operating from within the nation’s prisons”.
The release reported the first breakthrough in the matter came in January 2025 when Sabrina Kalleecharran was arrested and charged with five counts of demanding money with menaces and one count of robbery with aggravation.
