Vets warn of deadly 'hard pad' disease among dogs

The Trinidad and Tobago Veterinary Association is warning of an increasing number of Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) cases among dogs in the country.

The disease, often referred to as 'hardpad' disease, has a mortality rate from 50% in adult dogs and 80% in puppies.

And, according to the association, there is no cure for the virus.
