WITH the wet season around the corner, Ministry of Health officials are urging the public to exercise personal responsibility and clean up their surroundings to prevent the spread of mosquito-borne diseases like dengue.
The plea came from Minister of Health Dr Lackram Bodoe as he addressed shoppers at Gulf City Mall on May 16, where the ministry observed Caribbean Mosquito Awareness Week with educational displays.
"The main focus of what is happening here is education but also to encourage the empowerment of citizens because the biggest step that you can take in the battle against dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases or vector-borne diseases is really prevention."
