PEOPLE’S National Movement (PNM) general secretary Foster Cummings said the party will be looking at all factors that led to the defeat in the April 28 general election, but dismissed any suggestion he should resign.
He was responding to questions on Monday, at a news conference at Balisier House, Port of Spain, on the general election loss which saw the United National Congress (UNC) win 26 seats, the PNM win 13 and the Tobago People’s Partnership securing both Tobago seats.
Asked whether as general secretary he bore any responsibility for the party’s defeat at the polls, Cummings said it was never pleasant to lose any election. He said the party was looking at all the factors that led it to this point and would be taking the necessary steps to take the PNM back to government in the shortest possible time.
