Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place in Arima on Sunday evening. The victim, a 67-year-old resident of Dundee Village, reported that two armed men entered his home around 5:48p.m.
One assailant demanded money. During the robbery, both men struck the victim on the head with a firearm, causing several rounds of 9mm ammunition to scatter at the scene.
The robbers then stole the victim’s blue Toyota Hilux van valued at $155,000. The vehicle was later recovered at Martinez Street, Arima Old Road by officers of the NDTF North Unit. Police processed the scene and recovered 19 live 9mm rounds.
