One man was arrested for trafficking cannabis during a police operation in the North-Central Division on Friday.
According to police, the operation was conducted by officers of the North-Central Division Task Force (East) in collaboration with the Arouca CID. The roving exercise took place between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm and targeted several locations including Dickson Street, St Michael Road, Market Street, Thomas Trace, and the corner of Lopinot Road and Manan Street in Arouca.
Around 6:30 pm, officers observed a group of men gathered along Dickson Street near a location identified for drug-related activity. On approaching the men, officers identified themselves as police. At that time, one man was seen placing two foil packets through a gate while stating, “look the 100 and 20 piece.”
