One man was ar­rest­ed for traf­fick­ing cannabis dur­ing a po­lice op­er­a­tion in the North-Cen­tral Di­vi­sion on Fri­day.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, the op­er­a­tion was con­duct­ed by of­fi­cers of the North-Cen­tral Di­vi­sion Task Force (East) in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the Arou­ca CID. The rov­ing ex­er­cise took place be­tween 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm and tar­get­ed sev­er­al lo­ca­tions in­clud­ing Dick­son Street, St Michael Road, Mar­ket Street, Thomas Trace, and the cor­ner of Lopinot Road and Man­an Street in Arou­ca.

Around 6:30 pm, of­fi­cers ob­served a group of men gath­ered along Dick­son Street near a lo­ca­tion iden­ti­fied for drug-re­lat­ed ac­tiv­i­ty. On ap­proach­ing the men, of­fi­cers iden­ti­fied them­selves as po­lice. At that time, one man was seen plac­ing two foil pack­ets through a gate while stat­ing, “look the 100 and 20 piece.”
