Po­lice ar­rest­ed a man and seized cannabis dur­ing an op­er­a­tion yes­ter­day.

Be­tween 11:00 p.m. on 19 Au­gust and 2:00 a.m. on 20 Au­gust 2025, In­ter-Agency Task Force of­fi­cers car­ried out a Rov­ing Road Checks ex­er­cise in East Port of Spain. Act­ing on in­for­ma­tion, they po­si­tioned them­selves along the Sir Solomon Ho­choy High­way to in­ter­cept a ve­hi­cle sus­pect­ed of trans­port­ing drugs.

The team stopped a sil­ver Nis­san B-15 near Grand Bazaar. Af­ter iden­ti­fy­ing them­selves, of­fi­cers searched the dri­ver and the ve­hi­cle. They found two brown rec­tan­gu­lar plas­tic wrap­pings con­tain­ing 2,084 grammes of cannabis.
