A 20-YEAR-OLD woman was beaten and robbed of her cellphone, jewelry and cash on Wednesday after boarding a taxi to Chaguanas.
According to a police report, the victim, of Balmain, Couva, entered a white vehicle from the Couva Main Road around 10.40 a.m., and asked to be taken to Chaguanas. In the vehicle were two men, one the driver and the other occupying the front passenger seat.
On approaching the Camden intersection, the front seat passenger, armed with a knife, announced a robbery. The victim was dealt several blows to her face.
