A 29-year-old woman has reported being sexually assaulted and falsely imprisoned in an incident at George Street Plannings, Port of Spain.
According to police reports from the Besson Street Police District, the victim stated that on Carnival Monday night, she was beaten on her back with a whip by a man she refers to as “the boss,” who accused her of stealing his cellphone. She said that following the beating, she was held against her will in a room and told she could not leave.
She reported that another man, described as a friend of “the boss,” sexually assaulted her on two occasions while she was confined. She was eventually allowed to leave on Wednesday, but subsequently fell ill and was taken by ambulance to the Port of Spain General Hospital, where she was warded.
