PRIME Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar says her Government will not take action or spend taxpayers’ money to assist a group of Trinidadian men recently arrested by Venezuelan authorities.
The Express understands that at least three Trinidadian men from Las Cuevas were arrested by Venezuelan authorities last week and are currently being held in Venezuela.
“I told the country that anyone who illegally goes to Venezuela to engage in illegal activities will be on their own. They are on their own. We will not spend a cent of taxpayers’ money to assist them,” Persad-Bissessar told the Express yesterday in response to questions.
