PRESIDENT of the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers' Association (TTUTA) Crystal Ashe is urging people with concerns about schools to follow the proper channels instead of turning to social media.
His comments come as the Board of Management of Holy Name Convent, Port of Spain, has launched an investigation into the newly appointed principal of the school, Sr Renee Hall.
The probe was launched in response to a flood of allegations against Hall on social media, reportedly by former students; and the launching of an online petition for her removal, which received more than 1,200 signatures up to yesterday. The criticisms were spurred by a media report which presented Hall as 'a mother' to her students over the years.
