Election fraud trial... Jaskarran admits he never checked integrity of elections data after former IT manager seized GECOM servers

(Kaieteur News) – Revelations emerged in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court during the ongoing 2020 electoral fraud trial, as prosecution witness and forensic auditor Terrence Jaskarran admitted under cross-examination that he never verified the digital integrity or chain of custody of election files provided to him after servers were removed from the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) former DCEO Anneal Giddings.

Jaskarran, who was retained by the Ministry of Home Affairs on August 21, 2020, to conduct a forensic tabulation exercise, admitted that his analysis was strictly confined to basic data entry and interface comparison, leaving the foundational validity of the underlying digital records completely unexamined.

Defence counsel Nigel Hughes pressed Jaskarran before Magistrate Faith McGusty on whether he took any measures to audit or authenticate the raw data files given to him following the seizure of GECOM’s IT infrastructure. Under questioning, Jaskarran conceded that he did not examine the cause, digital history, or integrity of any documents or files handed over for his report.
