(Kaieteur News) – Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) Information Technology Manager Aneal Giddings testified in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court that his decision to remain alone with Statements of Poll (SOPs) for about four hours, as well as removing GECOM’s central server for more than two hours, fell within his operational responsibilities.
Giddings made the assertions during cross-examination by defence attorney C.A. Nigel Hughes in the ongoing 2020 General and Regional Elections fraud trial.
Hughes questioned Giddings extensively about his actions inside the Ashmins building on March 3, 2020, after then-Deputy Chief Election Officer Roxanne Myers instructed staff to leave the building.
