Jaskaran admits to biased statements on social media after being employed to audit 2020 polls

(Kaieteur News) – Defence attorneys Nigel Hughes and Eusi Anderson had cause to question the credibility of state witness Terrence Jaskaran, pointing to a long, documented paper trail of political commentary to argue that the forensic auditor operated with explicit partisan bias while tasked with reviewing the 2020 General and Regional Elections.

During cross-examination, defence counsel attempted to dismantle Jaskaran’s standing as an independent expert witness, arguing that he breached his core duty of neutrality by harbouring deep political allegiances to the governing People’s Progressive Party (PPP) and active hostility toward the opposition.

The defence highlighted that Jaskaran’s engagement itself raised immediate red flags of political patronage rather than objective selection.
