(Kaieteur News) – The High Court of the Supreme Court of Judicature has ordered the immediate release of Nikita Greene from police custody, while allowing law enforcement to keep her son, Ryan Greene, detained as investigations continue.
The ruling, delivered on October 29, 2026, by Justice Christel Lambert-Meertins in the civil jurisdiction matter (Randy Greene v. The Commissioner of Police and The Attorney General of Guyana), comes amid a sprawling national security probe involving the alleged unauthorized extraction of data from the country’s safe camera surveillance network.

Following the court’s decision, Attorney General Anil Nandlall addressed reporters, characterizing the judicial outcome as fair while defending the continued detention of Ryan Greene.
