The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has defended the detention of Police Constable Ryan Greene and his mother, Nikita Greene, in connection with an investigation into the alleged unauthorised downloading and removal of surveillance footage from the Government’s Safe Country programme.

In an affidavit filed in the High Court on Wednesday, Cadet Officer Stephan Hinds, who is attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID)’s Major Crime Investigations Unit, said the two remained in lawful custody while investigations continued into the matter.
