A Williamsville roadside vendor was ambushed, beaten, and robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight on Sunday as he operated his vegetable stall, D Fivestar General, along Garth Road, near Princes Town.
Around 11 a.m., 35-year-old Robin Ramgobin was conducting sales when a masked gunman exited a white Nissan Almera (PDU 1224) and grabbed him by the arm, ordering him not to run. Ramgobin managed to break free, but as he fled, a second armed suspect gave chase and fired a shot.
The attackers caught him near a bamboo patch, viciously beat him, and stole $4,600 in cash, a $9,000 gold chain, and a $3,500 phone before escaping in the waiting getaway car.
