With less than two weeks to go before the start of the new school term, St Peter’s Private School in Pointe-a-Pierre was badly damaged by fire in the early hours of Thursday.

The blaze, which broke out shortly before 4 a.m., gutted several classrooms and the administration building.

For about an hour, fire officers battled the flames at the school, which is located on Casuarina Avenue in Bonne Aventure Park, on the compound of Heritage Petroleum Company Limited.
