THE Carapichaima West Secondary School had to be to shut down mere days before the end of the academic term after a fire broke out in its Fifth Form block on Monday.
The cause of the fire, which is not yet known, has triggered investigations by the Ministry of Education, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), and the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service (TTFS).
No one was injured during the incident. In a release yesterday, the Ministry of Education said several divisions under its portfolio were engaged to conduct assessments and to begin repair works at the school.
