Guyana’s premier swimmer and Olympian Raekwon Noel continued his remarkable run at the Central America and Caribbean (CAC) Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, claiming his second gold medal of the competition while establishing another Games record.
Noel delivered a dominant performance in the men’s 200-metre butterfly final on Wednesday evening, touching the wall in an impressive 1 minute 56.82 seconds. His winning time not only shattered the existing Games record but also lowered his own Guyana national record by approximately three seconds.
The Guyanese star finished comfortably ahead of Venezuela’s Manuel Diaz, who claimed the silver medal, while Mexico’s Rafael Arizpe secured bronze.
