(Kaieteur News) – Guyana eyes breakthrough on Day 3 in Oregon. Guyana’s pursuit of its first medal at the World Athletics U20 Championships in 14 years continues today, with middle-distance standout Olivia Solomon and sprint duo Tishawn Eastman and Skylar Charles set to carry the country’s hopes on Day Three of the championships in Oregon, USA.
Fresh off an impressive performance on Tuesday, Solomon will line up in the women’s 800m semi-finals today.
The CARIFTA Games Under-17 800m gold medallist secured automatic qualification by clocking 2:06.55 in her heat, a performance that not only booked her place in the next round but also established a new Guyana National U20 record.
