Kaieteur Sports – Guyana’s top-ranked 83kg powerlifter, Dominic Tyrrell, recently attended the SilentWorker Switzerland Meet, held on 18 and 19 July 2026. The competition formed part of the SilentWorker Power Series’ international “Prime Time” team event between Team Viper and Team Runetech. The series describes itself as the first international amateur powerlifting circuit, with the leading lifters from each stage qualifying for the season finale in France.

Tyrrell completed all nine of his attempts over the two days of competition. He opened with a 275kg (606lb) squat, setting a new Guyana national record in the 83kg class. The lift surpassed his previous national mark by 2.5kg and improved his competition personal best by 5kg.

He followed with a 170kg (375lb) bench press, another personal best, moving to within 2.5kg of Guyana’s national bench press record, which he hopes to challenge again later this year.
