Tributes poured in from various spheres yesterday following the death of veteran broadcaster and vocalist Raymond Edwards. Edwards died yesterday at the Eric Williams Medical Complex after a long illness. He was 52.
Edwards’ wife, Desiree Connor-Edwards, announced his passing on Facebook with a heartfelt post. She asked for time to communicate further plans. “My heart left me this morning. My beautiful, loving and funny Raymond Edwards has passed. Please allow me some time to communicate plans. #RayofSunshine”.
A member of the Quite Exquisitely Done Company Ltd (QED),alongside Nigel Floyd and Eddie Cumberbatch, Edwards is being remembered as a man of courage and a powerful voice. QED manager, Esuyemi Ogunbanke, who spoke to the Express via telephone yesterday, said members of QED are deeply affected by Edwards’ passing. “Our loss is too fresh to contemplate our future. We are heartbroken to share the passing of our beloved friend, brother, and fellow tenor, Raymond Edwards, who died this morning at Mt Hope Medical Complex,” Ogunbanke said
