ONE day before businessman Derrick Tardieu was freed by the men who had taken him and his wife last month, a Colombian gangster with ties to the Venezuelan gang behind the couple’s kidnapping offered to help secure the couple’s release.
The offer came with a cost after he messaged a relative of the family through Instagram.
Derrick, 70, and his wife Claribel, 47, were snatched from their home at Monos Island, Chaguaramas, on December 6 by several men.
