Senior police sources have confirmed that within the last two days, proof of life has been given to the relatives of Monos Island couple Derek Tardieu and his wife, Claribel.
It has been more than five days since Tardieu, 70, and Claribel, 47, were taken from their home on Monos Island.
While police said that negotiations continue with the kidnappers who have demanded a US$2.5 million ransom for their release, sources confirmed that relatives received proof of life information about Derek and Claribel.
