A second day is passing, and Derrick “Stones” Tardieu, 70, and his wife Claribel, 47, remain in the hands of kidnappers following their abduction from their Monos Island home on Saturday night.
Police and coast guard officers have been conducting an extensive search of the area surrounding the scene of the abduction, but the couple has yet to be located. Authorities are reportedly working closely with the family, who are negotiating a reduced ransom.
In a statement issued this afternoon, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said:
