Police in the Caroni are investigating a larceny trick after a 54-year-old woman was defrauded of furniture via a social media transaction.
According to police reports, around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, the victim made contact with a man through Facebook regarding the sale of a wardrobe valued at $850 and a chest of drawers valued at $1,200.
Shortly after, at approximately 5p.m., another man arrived at the victim’s property at La Paille Gardens, Caroni, in a motor vehicle of unknown make and registration. The man retrieved the items on behalf of the Facebook contact without making any payment.
